Webquest Fridays
Okay, to give you something to work on over the weekend I have a
webquest
for all my readers.
A webquest is an assignment that you have two days to research and submit an answer for.
Sounds boring? It’s not. It's a little advanced, but fun to do!
Todays Webquest is:
Desert Island Survival.
Situation:
Your plane has crashed on an island with no people on it.
As a group you need to stay alive.
So you must pick which member of the group you want to be:
I will give you some information on the skills each person should have, and the island, then you have to use the websites I recommend, plus any others you can find, to show how you would be a good member of this group.
Roles:
Leader
Someone to take charge and keep everyone happy. Good with tough situations and stress. Able to motivate and manage people well, and help them when they need it.

Other
: Is there another job that you think is needed? You can add one if you want.
The Island:
The island that you are on is very similar to Fiji.
Climate:
Tropical marine climate
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tropical_marine_climate
Landscape:
beaches, mountains (up to 1000m high) and Tropical Rainforests

Animals (fauna)

Supplies:
You all search the wreckage and each find three items that you think will be helpful.
You can choose any three items you want, that would be found in a normal plane or luggage.
Remember: Cell phones won’t work on this island, it is too far from cell phone towers!
Mention what three items you have in your description of your character.
example: knife, magnifying glass, large sheet.
TASK:
You should write a 200-300 word comment telling me what Role you want, and use internet research to explain how you would be the best person for the job.
EVALUATION:
I will read all entries submitted before Monday, and mark them on 1. How well the argument is written 2. Knowledge of your job and role (from research) 3. How you can adapt to the specifics of the island.
RESULTS:
Next Friday before the next Webquest I will announce the winners of this week’s game.
All others will unfortunately die in the plane crash.
Have a great weekend and please ask for help if you need it!
