Pronunciation Thursdays
Okay everyone, it's time to work on our pronunciation.
I know that not everyone likes practicing pronunciation in class so here's a chance to do it in your home.
We are going to look at the hardest sounds for most Asian English speakers:
R and L
First for the L move the tip of your tongue forward, just behind the front teeth and say "LLL".
For the R we move our lips forward a bit and try to pull our tongue far back in the mouth (like you're trying to swallow it), don't let the tip of the tongue touch anything! Then make a strong "ER" sound.
Okay, that part is easy, now lets try some
minimal pairs:
Go very slowly, make sure to move your tongue to the proper places in your mouth.
